Silicone Espresso Puck Ejector

A simple silicone puck ejector that helps remove spent coffee pucks from espresso baskets without the need for a knock box.

This isn't a product I designed myself, but I've found it to be a very useful addition to the workflow of my Stepdown Baskets, so I'm stocking these for convenience. Since the INTROVERT Stepdown Baskets baskets have straight walls, spent pucks can sometimes be a little more difficult to knock out. This silicone ejector makes the process much easier by using a quick burst of air to pop the puck out from underneath, with a satisfying sound. Works with a wet or dry puck.

I'm offering these here simply as a convenient accessory for anyone who might find them useful.

Compatibility

Particularly useful with INTROVERT Baskets.

The 58mm variant can work well with the following:

• INTROVERT 58-49mm Stepdown Basket
• INTROVERT 58-42mm Stepdown Basket
• INTROVERT 58-30mm Stepdown Basket
• INTROVERT 54-42mm Stepdown Basket (only if basket sticks out past the bottom of portafilter)

The 51mm variant can work well with the following:

• INTROVERT 58-42mm Stepdown Basket
• INTROVERT 58-30mm Stepdown Basket
• INTROVERT 54-42mm Stepdown Basket
• INTROVERT 49mm 20g Basket

Both sizes of the puck ejectors should also work with other non-INTROVERT espresso baskets, so long as you pick the right size.

Size Considerations

Although the bottom diameter is 58mm, it can easily work with baskets that are smaller in diameter, as long as the bottom surface can seal against the bottom rim of the basket. One of the only cases for getting a smaller diameter puck ejector is when the bottom surface is too big for the bottomless portafilter's opening. Ideally, the bottom of the puck ejector should be a tiny bit smaller than the opening of the bottom of the portafilter. For example, a 58mm puck ejector may not work as well on a 49mm basket mounted on the 49mm portafilter.
