Batch 2 of my Silicone Niche Bellows is coming along well. Here is a little preview of some fresh samples.
This time around, I'm negotiating with my manufacturer for better structural integrity, dimensional accuracy, and overall shape accuracy. The opening of the bellows should be a lot closer to a circle rather than a little oblong or oval like Batch 1.
Here are some comparisons between Batch 1 and Batch 2:
Batch 1 appears to be slightly glossier, and Batch 2 much more matte. I've since learned that Batch 1 has probably been mixed with other kinds of plastics whereas Batch 2 should have a higher silicone content.
One thing I'm very happy about regarding Batch 2 is the "colour" of the white variant. Between the pieces of Batch 1, I could see there was a variance of "whiteness," ranging from off-white to cream colour. From the samples I received for Batch 2, they're all consistently bright white.
I'm excited to release these, and I can't wait for my manufacturer to finish producing them. Current estimate of availability is probably between May-August.
